Looking for a Resume Worded alternative you pay for once
Both read the document rather than a job posting, which makes these two closer competitors than most. The differences that matter are the pricing model and the links.
One payment
Unlimited checks for a single payment, priced in your own currency, nothing to cancel.
It reads your links
A GitHub or portfolio URL on your resume gets read as part of the same check.
The parsed text, shown
You see what came out of your file, which is the check that rules out the worst failure.
Free first check
No account, no card, about thirty seconds.
Resume Worded is a well regarded document scoring tool. You upload a resume and it grades it, with line level feedback and suggested phrasing, and it also reviews LinkedIn profiles. It is sold as a subscription with a limited free tier.
Unlike the scan and match tools, it does not need a job posting, which makes it the closest comparison to what we do. So the useful differences are narrower and more specific.
Where the two differ
| Resume Worded | RezumBay | |
|---|---|---|
| Needs a job posting | No | No |
| Pricing model | Subscription | One payment, unlimited checks |
| Line level rewrites | Yes | Yes |
| Shows the parsed text | Not prominently | Yes, as the first thing |
| Reads GitHub or a portfolio | No | Yes, from the links on your resume |
| LinkedIn profile review | Yes | No |
| Priced in local currency | Typically USD | Your own currency |
No prices are quoted here, because they change and a stale number in an article is worse than none. Check both current figures before deciding.
When Resume Worded is the better choice
- You want your LinkedIn profile reviewed as well. We do not do that, and for many roles the profile matters as much as the document.
- You are actively iterating over weeks and want to re-score after each edit as part of a routine, with a subscription that covers it.
- You like a graded report card as the main output and find that format motivating.
When one payment makes more sense
- You have links on your resume, which is most developers and designers. A GitHub profile is read very differently from a resume and no document scorer looks at it. What that involves.
- You want to see the extracted text first. It is the single most useful output there is, because everything else is guesswork if your contact details never arrived. Why.
- You are outside the United States and would rather not pay a dollar subscription for a document you will fix once.
- You will not remember to cancel, which is the real cost of every subscription in this category.
What neither of us can do for you
Worth saying, because the category oversells itself. No tool can tell you why a particular application went unanswered. The most common reason is that several hundred other people applied, and no amount of rewriting changes that arithmetic.
What a document tool can honestly do is remove the reasons that are your own: a file that parses badly, a first third of page one that buries the relevant thing, bullets that describe duties rather than results, and terms your field expects that you did not use. That is worth doing, and it is a smaller claim than most of this industry makes.
Questions people ask
- Is there a free Resume Worded alternative?
- The first check here is free with no account or card. Most tools in this category, including both of these, keep the unlimited use behind a payment of some kind.
- Does RezumBay review LinkedIn profiles?
- No. If that is what you need, Resume Worded does it and we do not. What we read beyond the document is the GitHub or portfolio link on your resume.
- Which one gives better rewrites?
- Both give line level rewrites and you should judge that on your own resume rather than on either company's description of itself. The free check here exists for exactly that.
- Do I pay in dollars?
- You pay in your own currency where we have a price for it, including rupees, pounds and euros. The figure shown on the page is the figure charged.
